Jennifer Sandford
Veterinary Science Liaison, VIC and TAS

Meet Jen, our vibrant vet-turned-educator. Her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne was the catalyst for 25+ years devoted to improving pet lives.

After becoming a parent Jen stepped back from active practice, shifting her focus to pet nutrition and education. As a TAFE teacher, she plays a pivotal role in shaping veterinarians and vet nurses of the future. Her own fur family is made up of two cats, Tommy and Skink, and a dog called Elodie. Her fave treats? Pizza and homemade lemon meringue pie, but she’s not a fan of any crusts!

She’s excited to introduce vets to PetCann’s innovative approach to pet care. Her expertise drives our commitment to improving pet lives across Australia.

cara

Cara Macpherson
Veterinary Science Liaison, QLD, SA and NT

Meet Cara, an industry expert with a huge passion for animal care. Cara started her career in animal care when she was 14 and spent the past 12 years being part of the animal health divisions of major pharmaceutical companies. She cares about educating vet clinics on the science behind natural medicines and how they can benefit our pet patients.

Cara is on the road a lot, visiting vets all over QLD and NT, this marries well with her science podcast obsession, keeping her up to speed on developments with pet medicines and natural therapies. Her favourite treats are Darryl Lea 100’s and 1000’s Easter eggs, but the greatest love of her life is a woolly spoodle named Boris. He may be small, but he makes up for it with his larger-than-life personality!

Mel

Melissa Smyth
Veterinary Science Liaison, NSW, ACT and WA

Mel is lucky enough to spend most of her time visiting vets all over NSW and ACT, educating on the potential of plant-based medicines for pets. With 25+ years industry experience, Mel’s knowledge and passion for pet care shows. Starting out as a veterinary nurse in general practice and then critical care, she became a practice manager before moving on to account management for several global veterinary pharmaceutical companies. On her days off, she enjoys taking her horses, Cougar and Finn, for a trot along the beach or snuggling up with her cats, Loky and Luey.
